I’m Justin Cannon, and I started 5 Lakes Heating & Air after spending 26 years in this industry — long enough to see how it changed.
At some point, big HVAC companies stopped solving problems and started chasing numbers. Sales quotas replaced skilled work. A $50 repair was ignored in favor of pushing a $10,000 system. That never sat right with me.
I built 5 Lakes because I knew there were plenty of folks looking for a good, honest service that doesn’t take advantage of people.
My goal is simple: show up, figure out what’s wrong, and fix it the right way the first time. That’s what I’d want in my own home. That’s what I promise to bring to yours.

This work’s been part of my life for a long time — long before I ever started a business.
I started as a helper, learning one task at a time. Over the years, I worked in every part of the HVAC field: diagnostics, repairs, full system installs, replacements. I eventually became an installation manager, leading crews and training new techs.
I came to see HVAC not just as a service, but as craftsmanship. When it’s done right, you don’t just solve the problem — you leave something behind that lasts.
I still go to factory training and continuing education whenever I can. I stay licensed and insured . And whether it’s a full system changeout or a small repair, I approach every job like my name’s going on it — because it is.

My family’s been part of the Greenwood area for generations. My grandparents moved here in the 60s to open a small business, and I was born and raised right here in Greenwood County. In 2023, we moved to Abbeville — and today, we serve homeowners all across the region, including Greenwood, Anderson, Abbeville, Laurens, McCormick, and all towns in between.
As for the name? People sometimes ask where “5 Lakes” comes from. The truth is, I’ve always loved getting out on the lakes around here — fishing, relaxing, just taking in what makes this part of South Carolina feel like home. I thought the name sounded strong and local. In hindsight, it might not be the most precise label for our service area… but I still like it. It reminds me why I started this in the first place: to provide 5-star service and build something I could be proud of.
